Susie Stalker

Today I moved my latest batch, the "Belgian golden strong ale"(ish), into the secondary. And I must say, judging from the sample I pulled, even though it is still green as all hell, this just might be a good one. I have high hopes. Sadly, it won't be even close to ready to drink until around my birthday (that is near xmas for those not in the know), and really should probably sit even longer. But I will break one open on my 27th, for sure. It's my party, and i'll drink it if i want to. Hopefully i'll want to! Actually, I will likely not be able to stand it and will try it here in a few months. I'm weak, what can I say. I took some pictures of the beer in it's new 5 gallon home. Enjoy.

I am very excited. My new 15 gallon brewpot (and other assorted goodies) came yesterday. This all means I can FINALLY, years after my first batch, brew all grain. The pot is comically large. I will take a picture of me sitting in it as soon as Joel is back from LA with the camera. Funny stuff, mang.

Friday I am off to Cooperstown, NY to go to the Belgian Beerfest at Ommegang brewery (http://www.ommegang.com/). There will be beer, whole roasted pigs, belgian waffles, mussels, burgers, brats, falconry, bonfires, camping (yay!), and lots of yummy beers. A damn fine time. We're meeting some friends up there who I haven't seen in for-fucking-ever (fellow homebrewers/nerds), so I'm really looking forward to getting shitfaced with them and running around in/near the woods. Oh, and camping, i'm super excited to go camping again. Sadly, i'm sure there will be no pesky raccoons this time.

For those who didn't hear of my friend 'Francis' from the last camping trip in southern MO i've included a picture of him eating one of his stolen treasures. He managed to scare the living hell out of me the first night by sneaking up a foot behind me on the picnic table, then later moved a huge log off the cooler to steal hotdog buns. The next night he moved the huge log and a giant rock off the cooler and stole marshmallows and graham crackers. He was awful cute, the little shit.

Anywho... I will post pictures of this weekend when I get back. Have a good one!

Is this the best, or worst chair ever. I both hate it, and love it. One thing is for sure, I'd never get Porter out of it.
